William (Bill) Lee Holt, 69 of Shady Side, Md, passed away on
September 7, 2025 at his home with his sister by his side. Bill
served in the Navy, he was a Charter Boat Captain and in good
standing with the Deale Captains Association, the Maryland Charter
Boat Association, and St. Charles Sportsman’s Club (23 years).
He was the sole owner and operator of WLH Construction Company. He
enjoyed working for channel NBC4 of D.C for 37 years and channel CBS
9 of D.C. for 10 years. He was very gifted and talented with
everything he touched. He had many hobbies such as fishing, hunting,
working with leather, building things and reading. Bill loved being
a dad to his fur babies Boomer, Stormee and Johnny Ringo; he also
enjoyed family time with his nieces, nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his fur babies Budweiser, Brut and
Nitro Glycerin and Grandparents, Judson & Bertha Holt of NC,
Grandparents, Horace & Julia Caffi of MD, father, Kenneth Greer
Holt, Sr., brothers, Keith and Ronnie Holt Reese of VA, niece, Cara
Reese of VA and brother, Judson Holt of MD.
He is survived by his fur babies Boomer, Stormee and Johnny Ringo,
also mother Genevieve ( & Ray Moore) Holt of MD, sister in law,
Helen Reese and nephew, Tony (& Leah) Reese and their children of
VA, sister in law, Joyce Reese and their children of VA, brother,
Kenneth Greer Holt, Jr. of MD, sister Suzanne (& Kerry) Yon and
niece, Julia (& Rick) Snyder of PA and children, Valarie, Samantha,
Richard III (Tre), Aliyah Rose, nephew Anthony (Tony) (& Alycia) Yon
of MD, and their children Elaina, Charlee and Vincent, nephew, Jon
Yon of MD and niece, Jennalyn (& Grant) Keifer of PA.
Bill is also survived by his Shady Side family Elayne Hollen, Keith
Davis, Nancy Beall, Nora & Joe Sreboroski, Nathan & Joanne Henson,
Joan & Jeff Stansfield and Darla & Robby Howes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Happy Harbour in Deale,
Maryland on November 1st from 12-3. Bill will then be
laid to rest in North Carolina next to his Dad, Uncle and
Grandfather. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude for
children’s cancers.
